This is done via a coring process on the existing operating pipeline without any interruptions to the flow of medium and system. It helps to avoid shutdown for performing tie-in, add-on, by pass, repair for existing live pipelines or pressure vessel in a safe and efficient manner.
Cold tapping is used for pipeline systems that carry a flammable medium. Cold tap prevents ignition, especially fuel lines.
